The literature and press office Pauw & Politycki GmbH was founded by Annette Pauw and Birgit Politycki on 1 April 1998. Its clientele comprised such highly reputed publishing companies as Rowohlt, S. Fischer, Suhrkamp, Droemer Knaur, Carlsen and Deutsche Grammophon Literatur, as well as the Hamburger Kulturbehörde (Hamburg department of culture), the Börsenverein des Deutschen Buchhandels (stock exchange society of the German book trade) and the Ministerium für Generationen, Familie, Frauen & Integration (Ministry for generations, the family, women and integration) in North Rhine-Westphalia. Following the dissolution of the company on 31 December 2006, the partnership company Politycki & Partner took up business on 1 January 2007 in Hamburg's "Generalsviertel" district, with further offices in Berlin and Munich.
